Supported Independent Living (SIL) under the NDIS is a type of funding and support that helps people with disability live as independently as possible, usually in a shared home with other participants, but sometimes on their own.
What SIL Covers:
Who SIL is For:
At Wisdom Amazing Care, we can help you find a home to call your own. If you’re looking for somewhere new to live, we can even help match you with the right flatmates so you feel comfortable and supported.
You’ll be paired with a dedicated Case Manager who will guide you through the entire process, making things simple and stress-free.
Already have a place to live? Fantastic! We can provide all then in-home supports you need to make everyday living easier and more independent.
Once you’ve found your new home, we can give you the support you need to live there.
From day-to-day tasks to build your skills right through to overnight support, we’ve got you covered. This may include;
Yes! All our customers are part of the household routines and decisions.
This can be done in different ways depending what each household prefers. As an example, in some houses, the housemates choose to sit down for a meeting each week to make decisions about their home.
We focuses on choice, dignity, and inclusion – so you should not just be “told” what happens in your home. You should be asked, heard, and respected.
We know how important it is that housemates click and get along. That’s why we work closely with you to understand who you are, what you like, and what’s important to you, so we can match you with the right people.
Before you move in, we’ll arrange several meet and greets so you can get to know your potential housemates and meet the team who will be supporting you.
That way, when the time comes, you’ll already feel right at home. And if it doesn’t feel like the perfect fit, we’ll work with you to find one that does!
Supported Independent Living is funded under Core Supports – Assistance with Daily Life in your NDIS plan
The NDIS does not fund the cost of rent, board, transport, and other day-to-day expenses such as food and activities.
Please note: We bill in line with the NDIS Price Guide which generally increases annually.
